2008 Budget Reduction Information
In response to the FY 08-09 budget adopted by the Florida Legislature, the University of Florida is making $47 million in cuts that will affect all areas of the university.
Budget Process Timeline
- May 5, 2008: President's proposal, based on Deans' and Vice Presidents' recommendations, is completed; is given to Deans and Vice Presidents who reach out to affected individuals and units; and is publicly distributed and posted on the President's Web page. A Faculty Senate Web page is made available for faculty comments that are due on May 8.
- May 8, 2008: Faculty Senate Steering Committee public meeting to discuss proposal.
- Week of May 5, 2008: Faculty Senate Chair provides Steering Committee and faculty comments to the President for his consideration.
- Week of May 12, 2008: Board of Trustees public meeting to review and approve the President's proposal.
