Strategic Communications Committee

The University of Florida Strategic Communications Planning Committee was created in late May, 2009, to coordinate a campus-wide strategic planning process to strengthen the university's brand and unify key themes and messages; maximize use of available research and resources; identify and propagate best practices and the most cost-effective communications strategies; and provide guidance where needed on implementation and evaluation. Communications is interpreted to include all aspects of internal and external communications and public relations, including but not limited to marketing; advertising; media relations; crisis management; public relations counseling; print, online and electronic communications and social media strategies; branding; and process management.

The Committee presents the seminar "Social Media: Promises, Pitfalls & Perils" to be Webcast live this Friday, January 22, 2010, 3-5 p.m. An archived version will be available later along with comprehensive information on social media.
