Invitation Guidelines for all Events
Please do not use the president's or his wife's name on the invitation unless they have agreed to co-host the event.
If they have agreed to co-host, please use one of the following:
- J. Bernard Machen, President
- President J. Bernard Machen
- President and Mrs. J. Bernard Machen
- Bernie and Chris Machen
- Mrs. J. Bernard Machen
- Chris Machen
List the location as one of the following:
- University of Florida President's House
- President's House on campus
- President's House at the University of Florida
- Please do not use the word "The" when referring to President's House

PRIOR to printing, please submit a fax or electronic copy of your invitation. It must be proofed and approved by the Director of Presidential Events one week prior to printing.

RSVP information is strongly encouraged.
Invitations requesting a response should mention special needs. (e.g., The favor of a reply is requested to [Department/Organization Name] at [phone] by [day, date]. If you have dietary or other special needs, please mention when responding).
Invitations should be mailed 4 weeks prior to the event.
